with House Homo

Interior stylist Richard O’Gorman, aka House Homo, takes us on a tour of his colorful and bold home. Not one for the minimalists!

There are makeovers, and then there is pure magic. For interior stylist and mural master Richard O’Gorman, a furlough during the pandemic meant his dream house was within reach. With endless time to create, and as much creamy, candy tone paint as he could get his hands on, Richard’s drab Victorian terraced property became a form of color therapy in a year that needed a few more bright spots.

Richard dreamt of a home filled with risque sculptures, and that’s where yellowpop stepped in. Together we bought to life his vision of a male bust in full neon glory. It’s the finishing touch to his candy pink kitchen, a joy to see every morning while his cup of tea brews.

Richard describes his style as ‘retro futurism’ with an emphasis on color theory. Each room has evolved with no planning. Certain elements bring them all together including the use of targeted lighting.
